Top London club’s floors flooded by idiots doing pull-ups!
Embarrassingly, a student caused £150,000 damage to the flooring in a club in Central London by attempting to do three pull-ups on a sprinkler pipe to beat his friend’s effort of two.
In this alcoholically fuelled test of strength, water gushed from the fire suppression system’s pipe down the stairs and across three floors in Tiger Tiger’s Haymarket based club.
The flooring has had to be replaced for an entire restaurant, a lounge and two bars in the club, the penalty for which has been a discretionary fine for City University student, Jonathan Stepien.
Apologising profusely while pleading guilty to criminal damage in court, Stepien said, “I’m an idiot. I didn’t expect it to break. I’m really, really sorry.”
Humiliating as the incident was, worse still was that Stepien’s buffoonery was aired on Sky News – informing the world on he and his friend’s inability to do more than 2 pull-ups each!
