Telling a good story is a bit like the art of telling a joke, it’s all in the timing. But did you know each rug has it’s own yarn too (ok, ok we know it’s a bad pun, but we couldn’t resist).
The old Navaho Indians have spent years mastering the art of weaving wonderful ancestral tales into their hand-made rugs, to let the stories live forever. And of course there are oriental rugs that for centuries have told of legends of the glory days. All these rugs have been created to tell a story about their lives.
Similarly, while we might not make the rugs with our own fair hands, what we place on our floors tells a story about what sort of person we are too. For example, a natural twist might say that you are carefree and ready to have some fun. Or you might be a natural herring kind of, orderly, regimented person. Or you might have a velvet pile twist in the kids room which would indicate that money really is no object.
So next time you trample across your hall rugs, or living room circular rugs, stop and have a think – what sort of person does my rug say I are?
